Congress Election Results 2024 Live Updates: With the latest trends showing the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) getting close to 300 seats, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to become the Prime Minister for a third consecutive term. This is being called a historic achievement in Indian politics. PM Modi has thanked the people of India for placing their faith in the NDA alliance once again.
However, the Opposition INDIA alliance has managed to put up a strong fight, leading in over 228 seats currently. This is much higher than what the exit polls had predicted for them. Rahul Gandhi of the Congress party has criticized the BJP, saying the people do not want Modi and Amit Shah to run the country anymore.

The final seat tally is still being updated, but the NDA is inching closer to the 300 seat mark currently leading in 297 seats. Even though the BJP itself may not get a full majority on its own, the NDA together is set to form the government comfortably.
With the BJP unlikely to cross the majority mark of 272 seats on its own, they have started talks with other parties like the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) led by Chandrababu Naidu to gain more support.
